Greetings from the International Astronomical Search Campaign
The 2nd Pan-STARRS Asteroid Search Campaign has come to an end.  Congratulations...your students did an outstanding job!!  They made 267 preliminary Main Belt asteroid (MBA) discoveries plus 22 provisional MBA designations and 1 rare Apollo-class asteroid discovery with an orbit crossing Earth's orbit.
It is still possible that some of the preliminary discoveries will be confirmed with a second observation and changed to provisional status.  If this happen, you will be immediately notified.

Hi, Dr. Chen.
We were delighted to have schools from Taiwan participate.  It's amazing to watch students after they've made a discovery.  Their enthusiasm and interest in science has most definitely changed.  This is something I see all over the world as we've run the various asteroid search campaigns since October 2006.
With the quality of the images from PS1 the students are essentially assured discoveries.  They just have to be patient and persistent.  And, as we work to convert more and more of their discoveries into provisional status at the MPC then, in time, we'll have asteroids becoming numbered and allowing the students to propose official names to the IAU.
